Essie has been demanding more of my time overnight just like she use to when she was younger. She starts climbing on me at me ankles. Then she walks her way up my side, lays down around my shoulder as I scratch her head and ears.

Havamal 155.
This I know as an eleventh, when
I accompany my dear friend into combat;
I sing it into the shield, so that he triumphs in battle
And that luck and happiness surrounds him always.

I really had to go with the flow AM work…not always easy, but doable
Good lunch; more in the Poetic Edda. I don’t remember ever reading The Lay of Volund
More efforts to go with the flow; not easy, but doable

*The guy who’s been training me on the shaper was SUPPOSED to be back from vacation YESTERDAY…wasn’t…nor did he show up today. I still need to gain knowledge on the KB saw and the duplicator. Every day I’m not getting the experience I need is another day stuck on 1st shift.

Came home to get on the horn with Air Capital Veterinary. I needed some kind of dollar figure for their vaccinations tomorrow…doable.

Skillet casserole from scratch; potatoes, mixed veggies and turkey kielbasa. Not as tasty as I had hoped.

Call into brother. He and mother had an ongoing tradition with the World Series; $1 per game. Now, my brother and I are carrying on that tradition. I tried to get him to go to $5 per game but he would have nothing to do with that. I’m pulling for the Cubbies, so he has the Indians.

Game #1 of the baseball World Series.
*since I’ve come into my full appreciation of World Cup Soccer, I’ve had trouble with baseball calling their championship series a WORLD Series when it has nothing to do with the rest of the world. One Wikipedia source says,
“Several baseball blogs claim that the New York World newspaper was a sponsor of the game.”
That claim was further declared “in error”. However, that claim makes the most sense to me.
One Wikipedia source says the 1st World Series was played in 1884 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1884_World_Series Another one says the 1st World Series game was played in 1903 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1903_World_Series At least two other sources support 1903:
http://www.thisgreatgame.com/1903-baseball-history.html
http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/1903_World_Series
So, it seems the 1884 World Series games were the predecessor to 1903 with post-season championships from 1884-1890, with the modern concept of the World Series starting in 1903. I must admit I don’t understand the difference. They’re all some form of baseball championship series.
I can also presume the concept of the World Series continues to show the arrogance of the United States and how they see themselves in relation to the rest of the world.
*scores of tonight’s game TBA. Right now it’s not looking good for the Cubbies.
