(not necessarily in any specific order)
This is an unofficial rendering and celebration of German History Month. It is by no means an exhaustive list. It DOES, however, represent a shortlist of famous Germans citizens as well as German/American citizens and their accomplishments. The effort, whether or not we were successful, was to steer clear of glorifying Nazis as they have their own well-documented place in history. More times than not, exact dates do not match-up their placement in this celebration. We hope you enjoy this celebration as much as we did gathering all this information.

I actually learned something at work. I received an order of parts with a part number of XXXXUX, but there was no form block location to do this order. I went to the Hänel, TCS and SAMS to try to find the form block; nothing! I went back to the originator of the order, and discovered that XXXXUX had nothing to do, at least in this instance, with neither the location nor the form black, because the “U” means “spare parts.” I had to use XXXX-X instead. So the “U” was pointless and the “-“ made the difference. THEN, I had to determine if the form block was HB, AHB or BPHB. This time I took XXXX-X to the Hänel, started with HB, entered it into the search and WAH-LAH! HBXXXX-X did the trick. Not only did I find the shelf location, I also found the form block. Planning REALLY could’ve made this A WHOLE LOT simpler by putting HBXXXX-X into the planning, but no, that’s too easy.

We can’t do that, but we can do other things, some ordinary, others heroic. Remind us of your bravery and your sacrifice. Give us the courage and strength we need to fetter out own Fenris. Keep us mindful of our duties and help us keep our fears bound as tightly as you bound old Slaver Mouth. Thus doing, may we share in your glory by imitating you. WE GIVE YOU MOST A HEART-FELT HAIL, ZIU, as we honor the Ziu that resides in us all!
