I actually had a pretty damned good time with the other Coasties in today's Veterans parade. Good contacts were also made with other Veterans around us. Like me years ago, we pulled another Coastie from the crowd to walk with us.
We were all invited to Eddy's Chevrolet/Cadillac for a free BBQ after the parade. I went, but there was such a huge line that wasn't moving quickly. Checking out the situation, I discovered they MAY have underestimated the turn-out for their invitation. I readily ascertained they just couldn't make burger fast enough on their insufficient grill. I didn't stay.
Futile search for a Coast Guard flag to hang on Wednesday; the actual Veteran's Day.
Bionic Burger for a very late lunch.
Essie in back yard largely unattended.
