I honor you this day, and I honor every bit of you that resides in me.  I’m grateful for the strong German heritage you’ve provided. I look forward with eager anticipation to the great family reunion on the other side.  I offer you my undying love, honor, respect, and gratitude.

Elder Rune Summons:
Born of fire, born of ice
Life is lived at such a price
Elder Runes in your way
Advise the mortal man today

Elder Rune: Eihwaz: Irminsul, the Cosmic pillar, inner strength, stress and difficulties, overcoming obstacles, need to have backbone to get through, endurance, “Shit happens, get over it! “, temporary cosmic consciousness, stability over external circumstances, resilience, the Shamanic link of experiences within the All.  “That which does not kill us makes us stronger” (Friedrich Nietzsche).

Havamal 153:
An eighth is mine, to all the Folk

Useful to know in their suffering;
Where hatred rises-up between man and man,
This I can settle fast.

Distress, suffering, compulsion of fate, separation, confrontation, strife settled, understanding suffering, settled calm, mind over matter, necessity of fate, misery and death, change of luck as necessity, decision of the Wurtâ, Wurt/Urlag paid-for, cause-effect relations, capability to restructure Wurt/Urlag, That which cannot be averted, the Ur-law that is active in every creature, stress, karmic debt, karmic need, but with outlook for change of karma, banishing ill fortune by means of accepting karma and karmic law, Skuld, Divine justice that balances.
“Use your fate, do not strive against it” (List, 55).

Interpretation: Inner strength (Eihwaz) conquers distress (Not).

1st check on all fur-kids.
<>
Outcome: 7hrs of sleep with two wakeups.
<>
Good morning conversation with my wife.
<>
Breakfast sandwich + a banana.
<>
Pedicure/diabetic foot inspection went well enough.  I talked to my tech about what happened last time when her replacement said my toe was dying.  She shook her head.  I also talked to her about my doctor stating to call him about new inserts and shoes.  She said the order was placed and I should be hearing from the lab soon.
<>
Toby and I out for a stubborn, late morning, 30min walk.  He failed to respond adequately to a common voice command which put him on the retractable for a few blocks, but he was much more compliant after that.
<>
Replaced one of Socks’ space heaters with one that is thermostatically controlled.  Now both of his heaters are that way and I will worry less.
<>
Ran 5 pillows thru the dryer.
<>
Homemade beer chicken with a garden salad, with moderate approval from wife.
<>
When I got to work, the first thing I hear from the 1st lead man was, “Don’t be afraid to hop on the bag press”.  Okay, that seemed kind of weird, but after shift began, I understood.  Two orders of the same part were on the shelf that needed tabs trimmed before going over to the bag press.  At the bag press, there were two more orders of the same part, but different dash numbers.  Luckily, I was indeed familiar with them, how to set them up and run them.  I felt pretty damned good about myself.

I monitored the election results from work.  We didn’t have a blue wave, but amazingly enough, Kansas IS a wee bit bluer.  Most importantly, we have a Democrat governor.  She led all the way thru the results.

God/dess Meditation: Ziu
Ziu, god of selflessness; of war & glory, one-handed god, sacrificial god, Sergeant at Arms at the Thing, enforcer of law & order, bravest of all gods; you chained the Fenris Wolf that threatened the worlds. We can’t do that, but we can do other things, some ordinary, others heroic. Remind us of your bravery and your sacrifice. Give us the courage and strength we need to fetter out own Fenris. Keep us mindful of our duties and help us keep our fears bound as tightly as you bound old Slaver Mouth. Thus doing, may we share in your glory by imitating you.  WE GIVE YOU MOST A HEART-FELT HAIL, ZIU, as we honor the Ziu that resides in us all!
