I honor you this day, and I honor every bit of you that resides in me.  I’m grateful for the strong German heritage you’ve provided. I look forward with eager anticipation to the great family reunion on the other side.  I offer you my undying love, honor, respect, and gratitude.
*no doubt the ones who brought the family over from Europe.
*offered up some tobacco for Granny Aggie.

Elder Rune Summons:
Born of fire, born of ice
Life is lived at such a price
Elder Runes in your way
Advise the mortal man today

Elder Rune: Algiz: Protection/shielding, Heimo (the genetic connection between gods and the Folk), guardian of Ensiwëg, the Rainbow Bridge, expansion of archetypal consciousness, awareness, divine realizations, an awakening, drawing on the natural Will, invocation/supplication to the gods, preparedness, sanctuary, embracing the Divine plan, a safe harbor, connection with current events, the Elk, or swan.
Conversely:
Outside the favor of Heimo, failure to integrate humanity with the Divine, without divine protection, possible dangers lurking, lack of preparedness, inability to embrace fear, failure to face the ultimate good in all things, tested by the natural Will/Universal voice, without the need for protection, the inability to see/understand/connect with what’s coming, an aspect of death, helplessness.

Armanen Rune: Man:
Havamal 160:
A fourteenth I know, Volkrast, the dwarf,

Sings early at the gates of dawn,
To strengthen the Aesir, to empower the Alves,
But to myself, All-Father, to gain wisdom.

Strength, that which is rising, magical empowerment, acquisition of Divine wisdom, propagation of the human race, encompasses both the exoteric and the esoteric concepts of humanity, great gain, male mysteries/leadership, manly actions, pulling down the spiritual into material form, human/humanity, increase, masculinity, health, plenty, magic, spirit, truth, God-Man, male principle in Cosmos, birth, health, increase, maleness and man, Divine man, male principle in Cosmos, magic power, thaumaturgy, true self, the resurrected god, the upper part of the world tree, Irminsul, Rune of spiritual powers, of directing Manna powers; the sacred Rune of humankind encouraging us to be human.
“Be a man” (List, 61).

OH WOW!  Local election early voting is on?  HELA YES!  There’s a polling place at my Union Hall on S. Meridian.  Very convenient.
<>
Okay, I’ve procrastinated this too long.  I’m on the project to seal up drafty leaks in in the gable of Socks’ house.  I was able to finish the east/west gables, and nailed down a windowsill that’s bugged the shit out of me for too long.  This part of the project is done and cleaned up just prior to sunset.

Rune thoughts here:
I have never bought into the idea that ALGIZ represents the Z sound as most do.  Why is it that every other Rune takes the sound of the FIRST letter in the Rune, but for some dumbass reason, Algiz takes the Z sound?  Ehwaz and Eihwaz are just variations of the E sound.  I’m SO ready to cry BULLSHIT.  I fully believe that Ansuz and Algiz are just differing sounds of A: Ansuz as in “father”, and Algiz as in “astronaut”.  It makes perfekt sense to me.

God/dess Meditation: Frouwa & Ing-Frô:
Frouwa, most lovely of all goddesses; who could not love you?  Women as their own inner glory and highest attainment as the self-made woman, men for your beauty, passion and strength. Praise to you for the gift of life, and for the love that makes life worth living. Remind us always that it is the strong who love the best and the most, and that only the mighty can truly be gentle. Fill our lives with passion and lust that we may live our lives to the fullest. WE GIVE YOU MOST A HEART-FELT HEIL, FROUWA, as we honor the Frouwa that resides in us all!

Ing-Frô, you’re the Great God of Fridu (all-encompassing safety and protection), Ar (peace, good seasons), the good harvest and prosperity: you are indeed the god of this World. When the day to day wears us down remind us of pleasures and joys. Help us recall the wonderful excesses that brought our lives into being and which sustain the human spirit during good times and bad. Without you, there would be no life and certainly little delight. Thank you, Ing-Frô, for the rushing life spirit and the eternal play of passions that make our lives fruitful.  WE GIVE YOU A MOST HEART-FELT HEIL, ING-FRÔ, as we honor the Ing-Frô that resides in all of us!
