Ok, I have no idea what’s going on next door to the south, but many of her weeds are EASILY a foot high; enough that I COULD call the city. My main concern is ticks with my fur babies wandering into it. I knocked on the door but no answer, and I haven’t seen any kind of activity over there for some time. I know she’s not dead in there because there’s no odor. Usually it’s her parents who come over to mow her yard but no sign of them. I’ll give her a pass this one time. I mowed her front yard and the north side. It’s not pretty. It’s not perfect, but my sole interest was just to knock down the weeds. I even tried to enlist the help of her neighbor behind her. We’ll see. The pass won’t happen again.

Over to Marc’s house to retrieve cans and a long overdue visit. Wifey calls with an emergency at home. Part of a tree in the back yard snapped. Wifey compared the sound of it to an explosion. She said Westar was already here. Power was restored, but no internet or phone. I came home, assessed the situation, and called my tree guy. The whole tree has to come down now. Called COX Communication; Tuesday they’ll come out to reset things.
*tornado sirens keep going off around here. Wifey is pretty scared. I’m Kansan born and bred. I’m keenly aware, not necessarily frightened.
Wifey and her kitties are huggled in her office.
Socks is safe in his house.
Essie is in her safe closet.
Toby won’t leave my side.
Lily is unphased.
