March/Lenzomânôd 17, 2017 Tag der Fruchtbarkeit, Celebrating the Death of Patrick

(Lenzomânôd = Harsh Month)

Patrick is no saint to me.  He’s a trickster and a thief.  He tricked the Irish people into thinking they were already christians via all the clover around Ireland.  He’s a thief because he robbed the Irish people of their heritage and pagan beliefs.  Was it a forced conversion or simply deceit?  He’s only the patron saint of Irish Catholics; but then, Ireland is mostly catholic, now.   I Don’t really celebrate today like others do:

I honor you this day, and I honor every bit of you that resides in me.  I’m grateful for the strong German heritage you’ve provided. I look forward with eager anticipation to the great family reunion on the other side.  I offer you my undying love, honor, respect, and gratitude.
*no doubt the ones who brought the family over from Europe.

A twelfth one I sing, when I see through the brush
The hanged one swinging from the hemp;
He climbs down from the trunk, must tell me his tale
When I carve the Runes right.

God/dess Meditation: Saga, glorious goddess of history, we greatly honor you as part and parcel of our ever-expanding past.  As we share in Minnatranc, whisper to our hearts of the stories about our gods, our ancestors, our heroes and their glories.  Be the resource for our memories should we ever forget from whence we come.  Gently remind us that we all have a rich history from which to pull.  For it is as we remember and respect the past can we deal with our present, knowing that we will someday have to deal with our spiritual debt.  We honor you, Saga, as a repository for the basis of all that we are, all that we are coming to be, and all that our offspring will inherit from us.  WE GIVE YOU A MOST HEART-FELT HEIL, SAGA, as we honor the Saga that resides in us all.
