Problems at work. One of the shittiest nights ever:
*I was greeted with a problem, and my first shift colleague wasn’t there to clarify. It SEEMED okay, the forming was good, but the tooling hole SEEMED to be on the wrong side. I understand the one form block makes two different dash-numbers, but there is only ONE tooling hole on the form block, and the tooling hole, for some reason, had been drilled on the other side. No one could answer my question WHY this would be so; not any colleague, not my Super, not my lead-person. My uncertainty forced me to decide not to run this order.
*I was presented with another order with the form block MIA; in other words, there was indeed a shelf location for the form block, but it wasn’t where it was supposed to be. So, there was no way to run that order.
*I was presented with an ÜBER hot, one part. SPL order, but even THAT didn’t look right because it still had all the tabs on it. PLUS, there was no location for the form block. While my lead-person was in search of the form block, I set up on some familiar parts.
*The form block for the SPL order was across the street and delivered. With all the tooling tabs left on it, I couldn’t run it as it was. I also pointed out the two that would remain didn’t jive with the form block. With TWO managers, ONE lead person and THREE machinists on it, I returned to my set-up of familiar parts.
*The form block cracked down the middle and broke the block on half. I think it was my fault, but I’m not admitting anything to anyone. It seemed it might’ve been patched once prior, and that’s where the break happened. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
*Back to the ÜBER hot SPL. The tabs have been removed, and I think the think-tank might’ve come up with a workable solution. It may have ran fine, but in the remarks, I put “Per management team” in an effort to let someone know I wasn’t the only one on this just to cover my ass.
*Finished the night with a gravy order. There was no way in hela that could fuck up.
