Tilapia and a garden salad for dinner…ate WAY too much.
Family front yard time. There’s a long-hair gray that’s been hanging around lately. Essie went out to confront it; probably more out of curiosity than anything. I let her do most of the work, but Socks and I definitely had her back. Satisfied she’s done as well as could be expected, I brought her inside. Socks remained behind to continue the vigil.
*it’s not particularly hungry. I gave it some kibble away from the porch. There was no immediate interest. I figured if it was hungry it would dive into it. Such was not the case.

How am I supposed to ignore any animal in need?
I’m very concerned about Socks’ welfare in the Cat House as the a/c just isn’t operating properly. The compressor keeps shutting down when it’s needed the most. I have one widow fully open, an opposite window partially open as Socks has a tendency to force open the screen, a fan in the open widow and the fan running on the a/c. Until this weekend it will have to do. Temps in the mid 90sF all week. It seems I’ll have to break down to get a new one. Summer hasn’t even occurred yet.
