Rune Lesson: Ehwaz = trust and control. Not = distress and suffering. One way I can see these two Runes working together is that trust can be deceiving. To trust someone means to open yourself up to vulnerability, and people can take advantage of that to cause suffering. Looking further into Not, however, we can see there is a “settled strife” layer. To engage in trust, is to settle a strife. To take control of a relationship is to bring about a change of luck. As I always like to look onto the bright side of any Rune reading, I’ll choose the latter.
