(Heumond = Hay Month)

Plans: work 10hrs

Picture
AM Meditation: Ziustac/Tuesday, we meditate on Ziu:
Ziu, husband to Zisa, Great God of bravery, one-handed god, you chained the Fenris Wolf that threatened the worlds. We can’t do that, but we can do other things, some
ordinary, others heroic. Remind us of your bravery and your sacrifice. Give us
the courage and strength we need to fetter our own Fenris. Keep us mindful of
our duties, and help us keep our fears bound as tightly as you bound old Slaver
Mouth. Thus doing, may we share in your glory by imitating you.  WE GIVE YOU A
MOST HEART-FELT HEIL, ZIU, as we honor the Ziu that resides in us all!

Elder Rune Summons:
Born of fire, born of ice
Life is lived at such a price
Elder Runes in your way
Advise the mortal man today

AM Elder Rune: Ehwaz (U): Horse, the special, controlled relationship between a rider and a horse, taking control of a situation, adaptability, following one’s instincts, teamwork, trust, loyalty, partnership, cooperation in relationships and with higher-powers, instinct, intuition, working in tandem with another, toward a single goal.

Armanen Rune Summons:
Born of fire, born of ice
Life is lived at such a price
Armanen Runes in your way
Advise the Spirit man today

AM Armanen Rune: Thorn:
Havamal 147.
A third I take, when danger threatens,
To bind the enemies through magic:
Thus I dull the steel of the furious opponent.
Like the staff, his sword does not cut anymore.

Donar, protection from danger, impermeable, an awakening, the power to turn,
the divine will to act, the law of eternal reincarnation, power to become,
Return, new emergence from what's apparently old and dried-up, formative power
of the seed, the thunderbolt, targeting goals, activity and the phallus, mental
telepathy, projection of the will, fierce protection, psychic attack &
defense, penetrating time & space, Rune of opposing polarities and of
joining opposites, binding of and victory over the enemy.

Interpretation: Control (Ehwaz) leading to protection (Thorn).

Outcome: Socks was conflicted about in or out, but soon enough decided in…smart kitty!

AM work went well.  Comments to follow.
Home for lunch.  The heat is on.  I didn’t give Socks an option to come out.
PM work went well.  Coming up on finishing 90-days probation (which makes no
sense since I was there more than 90 days with the temp service).  Medical,
Dental and Life insurance info was made available.

During work I though much about my Uncle Jake.  I remembered him from when I
was a wee lad.  I THINK he was Mother’s Uncle, so my memories of him come from
me being roughly 5yrs old or so.  I remember his house being on the west side,
close to Mayberry Jr. High area, north of Maple St.  His house wasn’t very
large, but it had a large crawlspace which dictated a raised porch.  Uncle Jake
wore denim bib overalls and wore a train engineer’s hat.  He had a large nose.
I remember enjoying him very much.

Also during work we had another critter visitor.  This time it was a wolf spider; obviously a momma with babies on her back.  I tried very carefully to collect the whole she-bang, but momma made a sudden move.  All the babies scattered.  I was able to collect a few of them AND momma to take them outside.  Momma will live to have more babies another day.

I’ve also been thinking about Fat Cat and YaWK.  I am concerned their absence
coincides with the demolishing of the vacant house at McCormick and Everett.  I
don’t even dare voice my actual concerns, but I don’t think they fared well.

104F/40C at home thermometer.

Well shit, not a good time for the Haruc a/c to go out.

Now, how long has it been since I simply heated up a can of soup for dinner?
YUM!  Oh, that coupled with two ears of corn.

Gave Toby a good brushing.

My “Runestone” book http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1166327.Runestone arrived!

Earlier to bed for a better night’s sleep.

PM Meditation: Paltar, blameless god, gloriously shining god, restoration god, beloved son of Wodan and Frija.  Let your goodness and your reconciliation smooth our paths on Earth. When our days here are over, light up death’s darkness with the promise of rebirth. Help is to avoid evil, and seek the good. Inspired by you, we will keep our reputations spotless that our lives be proclaimed a victory of the Spirit, and our leaving this life a tragedy. WE GIVE YOU A MOST HEART-FELT HEIL, PALTAR, as we honor the Paltar that resides in us all!

PM Clarification Rune: none
