*Socks was so funny. He stuck his head out from the sliding glass door, considered, briefly, going out in the rain, then, “ummmmm...no dad, I don't think so”, and back inside he went.

Born of fire, born of ice
Life is lived at such a price
Elder Runes in your way
Advise the mortal man today

AM Elder Rune: Dagaz: Light of day, total enlightenment, awakening, the AH-HA moment, achieving balance, harmony, positive focus on life, light at the end of the tunnel, increase, growth, an ending prior to a beginning, transformation, possibly related to the 3rd eye (the place where the two lobes of the brain join).

Havamal 156.
A twelfth one I sing, when I see through the brush
The hanged one swinging from the hemp;
He climbs down from the trunk, must tell me his tale
When I carve the Runes right.

Outcome: Toby is getting good about telling me he doesn't have to go outside to potty prior to my leaving for work. Believe me, he KNOWS the word “potty” and responds well to it. Now, prior to work, he's comfy on the couch, no responding to my question; rather, looks at me with a blank stare.

Good AM work; workload overflowing.
Good @ home for lunch; Stubby was glad to get lunch. Toby was glad to go out, back inside and get his treat. Essie was just glad to see me, well, AND get her treat. Socks made no effort to communicate to me a desire to go outside.
Good PM work; workload full.
*got in the Powerball pool @ work; only a few bucks, though.
*@ our weekly meeting, I found out how raises are determined; 2.5%. TWO AND A HALF PERCENT? TWO AND A HALF PERCENT FOR AN ANNUAL RAISE? What kind of BS is this? GODDAMN! That equates to a 33c raise FOR THE YEAR! FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is totally unacceptable. At least last year my raise was more than 33c, not so sure about this one.

Stubby AND Long-tail ready for feeding.
<>
It's still pretty damp; not really raining now. Essie and Toby briefly out back. Huggled with Socks, then he was ready for outside.
<>
Last of the Chicago style MONSTROSITY pizza for dinner.

It's a TV kind of night...and that's okay.

Perhaps early to bed.

Donar, Son of Wotan and Erda, husband to Sibba, wielder of Malant and Great God of thunder, thunder forth in our lives. When we would hold back, encourage us to advance. When we would be weak, hearten us be strong. When we would shun life’s pleasures, inspire our appetites for that which is lusty and good. Excite our growth from strength to strength; teach us, elder brother, how to throw our own Hammer, and slay the giants who oppose our will. WE GIVE YOU A MOST HEART-FELT HEIL, DONAR, as we honor the Donar that resides in us all!
