Donar, Son of Wotan and Erda, husband to Sibba, wielder of Malant and Great God of thunder, thunder forth in our lives. When we would hold back, encourage us to advance. Excitation, mysteries revealed, sacrifice, rebirth of the Sun god, fertility and/or destruction, generation, power, success, wisdom, duties fulfilled, art of concealment and hiding, rebirth into the light - life of the soul, the power to make situations turn completely around, wisdom, spiritual understanding, the power of regeneration, warrior strength, justice, balance, personal sacrifice of the father, resurrection/reincarnation/born again; “Do not fear anything, even dying cannot kill you. Better to die than to be dead alive” (Gorsleben).
Interpretation: Harvest (Jera) leading to fertility/destruction (Tyr).
Outcome: WOW! It’s already mid-January.
Warmth is on.

The afore-hinted epiphany was one of the same kinds of things I encountered when the metaphysical gave me such a strong message involving my former-and-most-evil-christian-brother. That same kind of strong message caused this epiphany. It involved my older brother who has had my dial-calipers and a micrometer, for which he offered to pay $250. I offered to LOAN them to him until he could get his own. He insisted on buying them, he just couldn’t immediately pay for them. Needless to say, he has not been able to do pay anything for almost 2 yrs. See, he and I worked for Beechcraft. He made $25+hr and I made $20+hr. Now, he makes $15+ and I make $12+hr. We were both let go in corporate downsizing. Financially, I’m not necessarily hurting. I have the opportunity for overtime. He does not. He has a greater financial responsibility than I do. Anyway, I digress; the epiphany. This morning, the Jera and Tyr Runes told me I needed to nurture a good harvest (Jera) with my brother and do the right thing (Tyr). The right thing to do was to give him the tools and not accept any money from him. Besides, I paid nothing for them. They were supplied to me via the government while I was @ Vo-Tech in the RTAA program. . I am not using them and probably never will. My brother is more likely to use them in his position. So, I simply gave them to him via a telephone conversation. Amazing, the religious expression he fails to understand brought us both to tears.
I carried this one step further. I also have welding gear I’m not using and probably never will. There’s a guy at work who welds on occasion but does not have the proper safety equipment. I asked him if he wanted it and, of course, he asked how much I wanted for it. I told him I wanted no money, just for someone to get good use out of something I will never use. I plan in giving him: a helmet, gloves, leather protective garb, a chipping hammer and a striker, along with whatever else might be in the bag.
I suppose the convention would be to sell these things to make a bit of money. It’s like I’ve said, I operate on a different level. I’m not any better than anyone. It’s just that I listen to that which the gods and ancestors throw my way.
My heart feels good about doing this.
Brought the welding gear from the shed to the Vue. I think he’ll be happy with this.
My festive Viking long-sleeved T-shirt that I ordered during last Yule season finally arrived…a bit late, but what the hel. I LOVE IT!
Shower and beddy-bye.

Remind us that life feeds on life, and that the beauty of the prey is formed generation after generation by the culling ferocity of the predator.
