*This was so hilarious. At shift-change, it’s extremely dangerous to walk across MacArthur St over to J-Lot where my car is parked. The pedestrian crossing is well-lighted with a couple of flashing yellow lights. Employees KNOW they are supposed to slow down and/or stop when someone is in the crosswalk. Because I’ve almost been hit THREE TIMES in my five months there, I purchased a safety vest; bright orange, reflective tape, the whole 9-yards. I NEVER take for granted the traffic will stop. I was approaching the crosswalk at the same time a truck comes barreling towards me. Figuring he wasn’t going to slow down at all, we approach the crosswalk simultaneously. I step ONE STEP into the crosswalk area and he comes to a screeching halt. I giddily step back away from the crosswalk. Those walking behind me said the look on his face was priceless. **Uruz, instinct of survival…Ka, imperviousness…right here! ROTFLMFnAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
