First thing at work, I asked a trustworthy to see the seniority list. Well, at least I’m nowhere near the bottom…good. Early in the shift, we had a group crew meeting with the managers and the plant manager. He assured us the company is doing all they can do to minimize the effect of any layoff. One of the other things we talked about was “bump-back rights.” WHOA! I came to Spirit as an M09C. I took a promotion to an M09B. Bump-back rights say if my M09B fails, and I’m laid off, I can bump back to an M09C and force someone else to get laid off. Lemme tell ya, I need to do whatever it takes for my family to survive this, and Toby keeps supplied with his insulin. Aerospace can be a cut-throat business.
*not a busy night at work at all.
*well, we’ll see what happens Monday. The bag press should be going under a massive overhaul. We, my first shift college and I, may be taking our parts and running back-n-forth to Plant 2 in order to get our stuff done. Oh, how much fun will that be (sarcasm).
