9th Day of Yule – Remembering the Noble Virtue of Industriousness
The Noble Virtue of industriousness requires that we work hard in life. Be conscientious and meticulous in whatever labor you have placed before you.  Always be diligent, energetic and devoted to your working life.  Never sit back and take the easy way out in regard to your ability to create a lifestyle for yourself. No matter the lifestyle you choose, know that your elevation in life, or lack of it, may (but not always) be the direct result of your depth of diligence. Do the best you can, and know that your efforts have been suitably rewarded (Vaygar Ingvald Elmersson).

I honor you this day, and I honor every bit of you that resides in me.  I’m grateful for the strong German heritage you’ve provided. I look forward with eager anticipation to the great family reunion on the other side.  I offer you my undying love, honor, respect, and gratitude.

Elder Rune Summons:
Born of fire, born of ice
Life is lived at such a price
Elder Runes in your way
Advise the mortal man today

Elder Rune: Algiz: Protection/shielding, Heimo (the genetic connection between gods and the Folk), guardian of Ensiwëg, the Rainbow Bridge, expansion of archetypal consciousness, awareness, divine realizations, an awakening, drawing on the natural Will, invocation/supplication to the gods, preparedness, sanctuary, embracing the Divine plan, a safe harbor, connection with current events, the Elk, or swan.
Conversely:
Outside the favor of Heimo, failure to integrate humanity with the Divine, without divine protection, possible dangers lurking, lack of preparedness, inability to embrace fear, failure to face the ultimate good in all things, tested by the natural Will/Universal voice, without the need for protection, the inability to see/understand/connect with what’s coming, an aspect of death, helplessness.

Armanen Rune: Bar:

A thirteenth I mention, when I sprinkle the son,

The young one, with holy water,
If once he faces the foe, then he cannot fall,
No sword can wound him so he collapses in the dust.

Blessing, shielding, inspiration, encouragement, security, impending accidents that effect fate, life, birth: birth of the future life that is preordained for us, becoming, being projected, help in birth, son, bread, song, fountain, mountains, meaning of life on this planet/in this world, the power of becoming, reconstruction, Rune of continuous transformation, death and rebirth metamorphosis, return to the Mothers; the fountain as female symbol, the eternal spring of humans.
“Thy life strands in the hand of God, trust it in you” (List, 60).

Interpretation: Protection (Algiz) leads to protection (Bar).

1st check on all fur-kids; Socks was sleeping so soundly on his plushy ottoman.  He didn’t move and barely lifted his had to say, “good morning”.  I scratched his head and chin.  I didn’t even tempt him with outside.
<>
Outcome: rough night; too many ups and down…backache.

God/dess Meditation: Donar;
Donar, Son of Wodan and Erda, husband to Sibba with the Golden Hair, wielder of Malant and Great God of thunder, thunder forth in our lives. When we would hold back, encourage us to advance. When we would be weak, hearten us be strong. When we would shun life’s pleasures, inspire our appetites for that which is lusty and good. Excite our growth from strength to strength; teach us, elder brother, how to throw our own Hammer, and slay the giants who oppose our will. WE GIVE YOU A MOST HEART-FELT HEIL, DONAR, as we honor the Donar that resides in us all!
