7th Day of Yule – Remembering the Noble Virtue of Hospitality
The Noble Virtue of hospitality represents a special relationship between an invited guest and host, where the host provides the guest with necessary goodwill. Welcome those into your house and your life as you can. In today’s world, we cannot trust everyone with whom we come in contact; however, we can exercise caution and be as welcoming as possible. When anyone is welcomed into your home ensure they want for nothing. Lavish upon them food, drink and comfort. Equally, be a proper & respectful guest when welcomed (C.Reimer/V.Elmersson).

Havamal 3
Fire is needful for someone who’s come in,
where is he going to sit?

Food and clothing are necessary for the man
Who’s journeyed over the mountains (Larrington 14).

I honor you this day, and I honor every bit of you that resides in me.  I’m grateful for the strong German heritage you’ve provided. I look forward with eager anticipation to the great family reunion on the other side.  I offer you my undying love, honor, respect, and gratitude.

1st check on all fur-kids: food, water, litterboxes, shelter.
OMGs, Socks has been out all night.  He was SO ready to go into his house.
Checked on Toby too as HE has been out all night.
<>
Outcome: 5hrs of solid sleep.
<>
Toby is my main concern right now.
<>
Phone tag with a mobile veterinary to no avail.
<>
Call into Emergency Veterinary http://www.vetwichita.com/about.html .  They will see Toby any time.
<>
Two eggs sunny side up + 6 kielbasa coins + sugar/toast on whole wheat bread.
<>
Took Toby into Emergency Veterinary.  They told me their office charge: $120, and it goes up from there.  They suggested El Paso Veterinary in Derby https://elpasoanimalhospital.com/ .
<>
El Paso Veterinary is WONDERFUL!  Toby has canine diabetes.  Right now, he has diabetic ketoacidosis https://dogtime.com/dog-health/56811-diabetic-ketoacidosis-dogs-symptoms-causes-treatments . They suggested keeping him for a couple of days and were very up-front about their pricing.  Toby’s my buddy.  If it’s within my power to help him I HAVE to do it.  I agreed to their keeping him to get his blood sugar levels down.  One day is $400*.  Two Days is $500+.  I have to get Toby well.
*Inguz/Not
<>
LOTS of Facebook support for Toby.
<>
2 potato and turkey kielbasa burritos for dinner.
<>
Toby was constantly on my mind all night.  I couldn’t care about anything else.  I’m going to call the Veterinary first thing tomorrow to find out how he’s doing.
<>
Last check on all fur-kids.
<>
Midnight nighty night.

God/dess Meditation: Donar:
Donar, Son of Wodan and Erda, husband to Sibba with the Golden Hair, wielder of Malant and Great God of thunder, thunder forth in our lives. When we would hold back, encourage us to advance. When we would be weak, hearten us be strong. When we would shun life’s pleasures, inspire our appetites for that which is lusty and good. Excite our growth from strength to strength; teach us, elder brother, how to throw our own Hammer, and slay the giants who oppose our will. WE GIVE YOU A MOST HEART-FELT HEIL, DONAR, as we honor the Donar that resides in us all!
