5th Day of Yule – Remembering the Noble Virtue of Honor
The Noble Virtue of honor is the ability to hold your head high in all situations. It’s the adherence to what is right or to a conventional standard of conduct. To live an honorable life is the most valuable of goals. We set standards for ourselves and live according to those standards. We are not encouraged to set low standards; rather, set high standards and work toward them continually, even behind closed doors. (C. Reimer/V. Elmersson)

Havamal 164
Now is the song of the High One recited in the High One’s hall.
Very useful to the sons of men,
Quite useless to the sons of giants,
Luck to him who recites, luck to him who knows!
May he benefit, he who learnt it,
Luck to those who listened (Larrington pg. 38)!

Armanen Rune: Bar:
Havamal 158:
A thirteenth I mention, when I sprinkle the son,

The young one, with holy water,
If once he faces the foe, then he cannot fall,
No sword can wound him so he collapses in the dust.

1st check on all fur-kids.
<>
Outcome: 6 ½ hrs. of solid sleep.  Toby wanted out and Essie wanted out then, too.  I was not going to go back to sleep to leave her unattended.
<>
Breakfast sandwich + a banana.
<>
Toby and I out for a late morning, extremely well behaved, 40min walk.
*partly cloudy, mildly cool, sizeable south wind.
<>
My company-paid work books showed up.  I immediately shifted out their insoles and inserted my orthopedic insoles.  We shall see what we shall see.
<>
Separated recyclables
<>
Made another hobo-stew; 2 bowls and OMGs good!
<>
Dillons…OMGs…hela busy, but I got everything I needed.
<>
A late-comer Yule gift from my wifey; a Helm of Awe w/n a Rune Circle on a wrist band.  Thank you, baby.
<>
Essie was certainly running around obviously agitated and growling: thunder, fireworks?  I checked out the house from stem to stern and found nothing.
<>
TV entertainment for the evening.
<>
Last check on all fur-kids.  All fur kids under warm shelter.
<>
11pm early nighty night, but I still get to sleep with my wifey.

God/dess Meditation: (alternate Manostag) Nirdu, brother-husband, to Nirda, parents of the Wanâ; Ing-Frô and the Frouwa, beloved god of harbors and seas close to land; help us to remember the cargoes of wealth that float to our doors daily from the wonderful Universe in which we live. Though our misfortunes may rise and fall like the tides, the chance of prosperity, like the eternal sea brimming with fish, is still there. Like the salt-sea spray, awaken us to the possibilities that surround us, so that our nets may be cast wide and return full of life’s gifts. WE GIVE YOU A MOST HEART-FELT HEIL, NIRDU, as we honor the Nirdu that resides in us all!
