Well godsdamnit, I have to throw in this early note. Last night (6th), there were fireworks at the baseball stadium, probably a mile away or so, and Toby went berserk in the backyard. Not only did he once again tear siding off the back part of the house, he chewed the wooden piece at the bottom of the back door. Sadly, this has become a habit. I’ve had Toby for five years and he has NEVER been this destructive, so something has changed in him. Now, unfortunately for Toby, I have to devise a way to keep him from any contact with the house.

Toby has just seemed contrite all day from his berserker shit yesterday. My heart went out to him. Just prior to work, Toby was pathetically licking the very last morsel of wet food from his plate, so as a token of peace, I gave him another can, which he gladly devoured.

As I was leaving, I heard Socks. I looked up, I looked down. I looked all around, then, OMGs…the crawlspace! Sure enough, there he was calling to me from one of the screened vents. I immediately ripped off the back-porch cover, and Socks so gladly came out and into his house.
