Good @ home for lunch; good cooperation, still overcast but not raining
Good PM work; as last break happened, I mentioned out loud, “Retirement can’t come too soon”. Another replied, “That’s not the attitude to have since you’ve applied for the buyer position”. I followed him out to the smokers area to tell him the lesson of turtle. The smokers made sure to hint in a male kind of way, that neither my story nor my presence was welcomed. Fuck you guys!
*the story of turtle is this:
Early in my Boeing experience, early to mid-eighties, I worked with a man whose name I can only recall as Turtle. Turtle was an old man with yellowed, drawn skin, whose face really did resemble a turtle. Turtle was retirement age, but chose to wait until his wife could retire so they could retire together. Romantic enough, but Turtle had a heart attack in the shop and died. The moral of the story; if you can live to retirement age, TAKE IT WHEN YOU CAN! Tomorrow is not promised.
Once home, Toby out for a 3/5 of a mile walk.
No sooner was I set to let Essie out for equal time, it started to rain.
½ mile on the treadmill.
Aldi Kale Veggie burger…not impressed…with leftover potatoes from Sunday.
FINALLY some family outdoor time; Essie and Socks teamed-up to remind Stubby of his guest status.
Das ist gut genug. Schlaf gut…y’all…LOL.
