Rune Lesson: Our honor is the most important thing we carry, and it WILL be what sets/keeps us free. I’m reminded of the saying, “If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.” If we life a life that is honorable, we are free. To the contrary, if we live a life that is dishonorable, our bondage is certain. Our honorable life IS our freedom. On the 5th Day of the 12 Days of Yule I say:
The Noble Virtue of honor is the ability to hold your head high in all situations. It’s the adherence to what is right or to a conventional standard of conduct. To live an honorable life is the most valuable of goals. We set standards for ourselves and live according to those standards. We are not encouraged to set low standards; rather, set high standards and work toward them continually, even behind closed doors.
